Stainless steel discolouration skin and silvery jewellery

Was very happy upon receipt hereof but after few days the chain has discolored my sterling silver necklace and leaves green marks on my neck. Chain is over week old now but looks like unfinished steel now. This is very odd as I've never had this with previous stainless steel jewellery before. As I can only wear pure silver, gold or stainless steel jewellery (nothing plated) I normally buy alot of stainless steel jewellery
